Mike Hartnett, PowerLight’s VP of Business Development, attended and gave a presentation last month at National Defense Industrial Association – (NDIA)’s ETI conference last month where he spoke on the importance of power beaming in military operations providing autonomy and freedom at scale for power distribution throughout the battlefield, specifically when powering UAS platforms.
As Mike said in his presentation, and attached summary, “Wireless power beaming is a way of delivering high levels of power, safely, over long distances, using a beam of light. Hundreds, even thousands of watts can be sent safely through the air when it’s physically impossible, too costly, or too dangerous to sustain UAS in any other way.”
Thank you Mike for your advocacy and work with PowerLight and the power beaming industry. Check out the document attached for a summary of Mike’s talking points at the conference.
